DISCOVER THE BEAR
In the heart of Winnie-the-Pooh country
The Bear Inn (formerly The Anchor Inn) is a family-friendly pub in the beautiful village of Hartfield, nestling in the heart of Winnie-the-Pooh country. Located in a fabulous 15th century manor house, the Anchor Inn has been at the hub of the community since it was first opened as a pub in 1861.
Our popular front bar is a lively venue for a drink or bar snack, while more intimate surroundings can be found in our back bar and library area. In the summertime our beautifully kept garden allows guests to enjoy their food and drink in the sunshine. And we have a spacious restaurant for more formal dining.
WALKING & CYCLING
Located in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Hartfield is a popular stopping point for walkers. The Forest Way and High Weald Landscape Trail both travel through the village.
